Samaritan's Purse
This organization has many ministries. We are heavily involved in North American Disaster Relief. Praying and sharing Christ with storm victims is our main priority, but we earn that privilege by assisting in any way possible. When Dallas, Georgia was destroyed by floods, Hands and Feet was there to help, rebuilding homes lost to the damages. Love Inc.
Sometimes people just want help doing simple things and we don't turn down those in need. Through this organization of the Cedar Valley, we helped move furniture and appliances. Operation Christmas Child
Partnering with Mugs Barnes, we gather supplies and host "packing parties" to fill shoe boxes with necessities and Christmas gifts. The boxes are sent to children in need all over the world. For most of these kids it's the only present they will ever receive. Alternatives
This Christian pregnancy center does a lot of good in the Christian community. When horrible flooding struck, we've chosen to be there for disaster relief by getting teams together to paint and do other repairs. Northeast Iowa Food Bank
Load up those bags and organize the presents! We gathered food and packed bags of meals for senior citizens. We have also had volunteers run a Christmas gift wrapping booth at our local mall to help with donations. Habitat For Humanity
This organization is purely to build and rebuild houses for those in need. Whether it's hanging drywall, sweeping, painting, or cleaning, we show up and they put us to work! Red Cross
Donating blood is what most people know the organization for, but we do more than that! "First Responders" are the first ones on the scene of accidents ready to help the victims in need in many different situations. Salvation Army
Through this organization we take the time to prepare and serve meals to the homeless. We also have volunteers sign up to be "bell ringers" for donations. Father's House Vineyard Church
Cedar Rapids, Iowa has many churches, but the Vineyard is Father's House. We have been called there to paint the building when extra hands were needed so we loaded up a van of volunteers. It was worth the two hour round trip! House of Hope
To help women in need, we do projects at multiple shelters. From installing security cameras, building platforms for washers and dryers, organizing closets of clothes and pantries of food to cleaning donated toys and the building itself. Individuals in Need
This ranges from helping flood victims with repairs, mowing lawns for the temporarily disabled to moving furniture . If you or someone you know needs help, let us know! We will find people willing to help! |
